The leaders reaffirmed the growing level of naval cooperation and interoperability between the Indian and U.S. maritime forces in multi-domains.

PEARL HARBOR - Adm. Samuel Paparo, commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet spoke with Indian Navy Adm. R. Hari Kumar, Chief of the Naval Staff, January 19, 2022, about the importance of the defense partnership between India and the United States.

The leaders reaffirmed the growing level of naval cooperation and interoperability between the Indian and U.S. maritime forces in multi-domains. The Indian and U.S. Navy regularly participate in bilateral and multilateral exercises including Sea Dragon 22 and Malabar 21.

Paparo extended his appreciation to Kumar for India’s commitment to strengthening alliances and partnership for an enduring free and open Indo-Pacific and congratulated him on becoming India’ 25th Chief of the Naval Staff.
