Paparo congratulated Kim on his appointment as 35th head of the ROK Navy and reaffirmed the importance of the strong, long-standing partnership between the ROK and U.S. navies to ensure maritime security.

PEARL HARBOR - Adm. Samuel Paparo, commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet spoke with Adm. Jung-Soo Kim, Chief of Naval Operations of the Republic of Korea Navy on January 20, 2022.

Paparo congratulated Kim on his appointment as 35th head of the ROK Navy and reaffirmed the importance of the strong, long-standing partnership between the ROK and U.S. navies to ensure maritime security.

The leaders discussed the strength of the bilateral and multilateral of the two navies, including recent participation in Talisman Sabre 21 and Sea Dragon 22.

Paparo underscored his commitment to strengthening alliance and partnerships for an enduring free and open Indo-Pacific.
