Greeneville Court of Inquiry Report Received Pacific Fleet Public Affairs
PEARL HARBOR (April 13, 2001) -- The U.S. Navy Court of Inquiry convened to investigate the Feb. 9 collision between USS Greeneville (SSN 772) and the motor vessel Ehime Maru has completed its deliberations and forwarded its report today. The report was delivered to the Navy's Pacific Fleet Commander, the convening authority for the Court of Inquiry.
The convening authority, U.S. Pacific Fleet commander Adm. Thomas B. Fargo, will review the Court's report of Findings of Fact, Opinions and Recommendations and determine what action, if any, should be taken. During this review, information from the report will not be released. This review process may take approximately 30 days.
