Pacific Submarine Force welcomes new commander

Rear Adm. Blake L. Converse relieved Rear Adm. Daryl L. Caudle as the commander of Submarine Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, during a waterfront ceremony, Feb. 21.

GULF OF THAILAND (Feb. 18, 2019) Royal Marine commandos and Royal Navy sailors attached to the Duke-class frigate HMS Montrose (F 236) conduct a visit, board, search and seizure drill aboard the Henry J. Kaiser-class fleet replenishment oiler USNS Guadalupe (T-AO 200).  During the drill, commandos and sailors coordinated with Guadalupe crew members to simulate maritime interdiction operations and execute proper VBSS procedures. Guadalupe is conducting operations which provides logistical support to U.S. Navy and allied forces operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility. Essex Amphibious Ready Group visits Pearl Harbor

USS Essex (LHD 2), other ships of the Essex ARG, and embarked 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit visited Pearl Harbor, Feb. 18-20.

ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam (Sept. 19, 2018) A U.S. Navy F/A-18E Super Hornet from the Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 27 returns from a mission in support of exercise Valiant Shield 2018. Valiant Shield is a biennial, U.S.-only, field training exercise with a focus on integration of joint training among U.S. forces in relation to current operational plans. This training enables real-world proficiency in sustaining joint forces through detecting, locating, tracking and engaging units at sea, in the air, on land, and in cyberspace in response to a range of mission areas.
