USS John C. Stennis returns to sea for training

The aircraft carrier departed Naval Base Kitsap-Bremerton, Wash., Jan. 16, for its first underway training period of the year.

BREMERTON, Wash. - The aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) departed its homeport of Naval Base Kitsap-Bremerton, Jan. 16, to carry out routine training at sea.

This is the first underway of the new year for John C. Stennis.

John C. Stennis Sailors are scheduled to conduct flight operations, damage control and firefighting training, seamanship training, medical training, and exercises designed to maintain technical and tactical proficiency in a variety of warfare areas.

The crew is continuing to prepare for their next scheduled deployment.
