    U.S. Navy and Coast Guard assets suspended search and rescue operations at sunset Aug. 22, after an extensive four-day search was unable to locate the Sailor.

  4. Hawaii-based ships to sortie ahead of Hurricane Lane

    U.S. Navy ships and submarines not currently undergoing maintenance availabilities have begun to sortie as Hurricane Lane travels toward the Hawaiian Islands.

    The Marine at the center of a search near the Philippines by the Essex Amphibious Ready Group and 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit has been identified as Cpl. Jonathan Currier.
