1. USNS Mercy returns to 3rd Fleet after Pacific Partnership

  2. Bonhomme Richard ESG begins Valiant Shield exercise

    The Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group and the embarked 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit began operations in support of the joint U.S. military exercise Valiant Shield 2016, Sept 15.

  3. Ships, aircraft conduct exercise Valiant Shield SINKEX

    Live fire from ships and aircraft participating in Valiant Shield 2016 sank the decommissioned USS Rentz (FFG 46) in waters 30,000 feet deep and 220 nautical miles northeast of Guam Sept. 13.

  4. ROK Navy assists with USS Decatur Sailor MEDEVAC

    USS Decatur (DDG 73) was assisted by the Republic of Korean Navy in an emergency medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) to help a Sailor in need of medical attention Sept. 11.

  5. Expeditionary maintenance expanded with USS Shiloh work in Singapore

    Ship maintainers and crew from the guided-missile cruiser completed a successful continuous maintenance availability (CMAV) period in Singapore, Sept. 9.

  7. Boxer ARG set to return from deployment

    The Boxer Amphibious Ready Group is scheduled to return to Naval Base San Diego Sept. 12 following a seven-month deployment.

  8. Fleet Week kicks off in downtown San Diego

    USS San Diego (LPD 22) arrived at B Street Pier in downtown San Diego yesterday and will be joined by USS Kidd (DDG 100) there as part of San Diego Fleet Week, which runs through Sept. 15.

  10. Navy adjusts LCS class crewing, readiness, employment

    The Navy announced today it will implement several key changes to the projected 28-ship littoral combat ship (LCS) Flight 0/0+ class over the next five years that will simplify crewing, stabilize testing, and increase overseas deployment presence availability.
