Greeneville commanding officer reassigned

Commander, Submarine Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet

PEARL HARBOR, Feb. 10, 2001 -- Rear Adm. Al Konetzni, Jr., Commander Submarine Forces Pacific has reassigned Cmdr. Scott Waddle, the commanding officer of the USS Greeneville (SSN 772) today pending the results of an investigation surrounding the collision with the motor vessel Ehime Maru on Feb. 9.

He has been reassigned to the staff of Commander Submarine Forces Pacific. Capt. Tony Cortese will serve as interim commanding officer.
