Media pool visits C-Commando

U.S. Pacific Fleet Public Affairs

PEARL HARBOR (Feb. 27, 2001) -- A media pool of six U.S. and Japanese print and broadcast media are aboard the Motor Vessel C-Commando today to cover operations by the Navy Deep Submergence Unit's remotely operated vehicle Scorpio II.

The pool, which left Pearl Harbor shortly after 10 a.m. today, consists of:

U.S. Broadcast
Japan Broadcast
Nippon TV
U.S. Print Reporter and Photographer
The Associated Press
Japan Print Reporter
Mainichi Shimbun
Japan Print Photographer
Kyodo News wire service

Media interested in receiving pool reports can contact the above companies and meet the pool upon its return to Pearl Harbor this afternoon. The AP and Mainichi Shimbun reporters will be available at the parking lot outside the Nimitz Gate entrance to Pearl Harbor at 4:30 p.m.
