Navy divers located and recovered the remains of a sixth individual in Ehime Maru today. The remains have been brought up to the surface and will be transferred to the City and County of Honolulu Medical Examiner this evening for identification. Due to the condition of these remains, a lengthy DNA identification process may be required. Once identified, the family will be contacted prior to public release.

The fifth set of remains was also recovered and transferred to the Medical Examiner for identification.

To date, the remains of six individuals have been located, of which four have been identified. Two sets have been recovered, but not yet identified.
