Captain Dustin E. Wallace

Captain Dustin E. Wallace is currently the Fleet Judge Advocate for Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet. Captain Wallace earned a juris doctorate degree from the University of Tulsa in 2000 and a master of laws degree from Columbia University in 2011. Captain Wallace received his commission in 1998 and entered the JAG Corps in 2000 via the Student Program.

In February 2001, Captain Wallace reported to Naval Legal Service Office (NLSO) Central in Pensacola, FL. While at NLSO Central, he served as Defense Department Head, Senior Defense Counsel and Legal Assistance Attorney. In August 2003, Captain Wallace reported to USS Harry S. Truman, where he served as Assistant Command Judge Advocate.

In August 2005, Captain Wallace reported to Naval Justice School in Newport, RI, where he served as the International Law Division Officer until October 2006. In October 2006, he reported to Task Force 134 in Baghdad, Iraq. While at Task Force 134, Captain Wallace served as the Senior Attorney for the greater Baghdad area at the Central Criminal Court of Iraq Liaison Office (CCCI). In May 2007, Captain Wallace returned to the Naval Justice School, where he assumed the duties as the Operational Law Division Officer and was responsible for the Iraq Pre-Deployment Legal Training Course.

From June 2008 until July 2010, Captain Wallace served as the Deputy Fleet Judge Advocate for Commander, U.S. Seventh Fleet embarked aboard USS Blue Ridge in Yokosuka, Japan. After his tour at Seventh Fleet, Captain Wallace attended Columbia University, where he earned his master of laws in international law.

In July 2011, Captain Wallace became the Senior Military Advisor to the Afghan National Army Legal School in Kabul, Afghanistan. As the Senior Military Advisor, Captain Wallace served as the Chief of Afghan National Army Legal Training and the Officer-in-Charge of the Coalition Forces Legal School Advisor Team. Captain Wallace re-deployed in May 2012 and reported to Navy Personnel Command as the LT/LDO (Law) Detailer in June 2012, where he served until June 2014. From June 2014 until June 2015, Captain Wallace served as Executive Assistant to the Deputy Judge Advocate General and Commander, Naval Legal Service Command. From July 2015 until June 2017, Captain Wallace served as the Executive Officer of Region Legal Service Office Southwest in San Diego, CA. From July 2017 until July 2019, Captain Wallace served as Legal Counsel to the Vice Chief of Naval Operations. Captain Wallace then served as the Force/Fleet Judge Advocate for U.S. Naval Forces Central Command/U.S. Fifth Fleet from August 2019 until July 2021.

Captain Wallace is entitled to wear the Legion of Merit (2), Meritorious Service Medal (5), Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and various other miscellaneous awards and decorations.
