Anjanette S. Knappenberger is the executive director and director of staff for commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet.

Ms. Knappenberger was appointed to the Senior Executive Service in September 2016 and has 27 years of civilian federal service, including 17 years with the Navy. She has a Master’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Bachelor’s of Science in Aeronautical Engineering from Purdue University.

Ms. Knappenberger previously served as the Navy’s Deputy Carrier Strike Aircraft and Programs Branch Head, the F-35 Executive Director on the staff of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Air Programs and the Navy’s Deputy F-35 Requirements Officer. She has also served as a Congressional Legislative Fellow and a Professional Engineer with the Naval Air Systems Command and the US Air Force Flight Test Center. Ms. Knappenberger’s technical specialty is aircraft flutter and dynamics, and she has worked on engineering projects for the F-35, P-8, C-17, E-2C, F-15, and KC-130J.

Her personal awards include the Meritorious Civilian Service Award and Exceptional Civilian Service Award. She holds Level III certifications in the career fields of Program Management (PM) and Systems Planning, Research, Development and Engineering (SPRDE), as well as a Level C Requirements Officer (RO) certification.
