Rear Adm. Singleton became Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Fleet Supply and Ordnance, U.S. Pacific Fleet in June 2012. Previously, he served as Chief of Staff to Commander, Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP).

A native of Montgomery, Ala., Singleton enlisted in the Navy in 1981. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Management from Troy University and was commissioned through Officer Candidate School in Newport, R.I. in 1986. He graduated from the College of William & Mary with a Master’s in Business Administration, and holds a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. He is also a graduate of the Columbia University Senior Executive Program.

Singleton’s afloat assignments include supply officer, USS George Washington (CVN 73); supply officer, USS Vicksburg (CG 69); aviation supply division officer, USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69); and assistant supply officer, USS Vreeland (FF 1068).

Ashore, his assignments include Commanding Officer, NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center, Norfolk; Chief of Staff for Director of Logistics (J4) on the Joint Staff; Supply Officer, Naval Air Station Jacksonville; budget officer, NAVSUP; aviation logistics analyst, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations; assignments officer, Naval Personnel Command; and supply officer for the world famous Grim Reapers of Fighter Squadron 101, Oceana, Va.

His personal awards include the Legion of Merit, Defense Superior Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and various campaign and unit awards. He is a qualified surface warfare officer, naval aviation supply officer, Supply Corps surface warfare officer, Joint Duty qualified officer, and a member of the Department of Navy Acquisition Professional Community.
