BUSAN, Republic of Korea - The Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Shiloh (CG 67) arrived in Busan for a port visit, May 4.

"It is always good to be back in Busan" said Capt. Kurush F. Morris, commanding officer of Shiloh. "Our visit is aimed at building friendship and goodwill with the people of the Republic of Korea and connecting with our counterparts to strengthen our mutual commitment to regional BMD [ballistic missile defense] security."

Morris was greeted on the pier by members of the Republic of Korea navy (ROKN) and nine-year-old Lee Yeon Kyung. Kyung was given the honor of presenting a welcome wreath to Morris upon his arrival on the pier.

Over the course of the next few days, Shiloh Sailors will not only enjoy the sites and culture that Busan has to offer, but will also participate in sporting events, ceremonies, and community service events during their visit.

"Our officers and crew are proud to be serving alongside our Korean allies and contributing to the ROK-U.S. security alliance," said Morris.

Shiloh, forward deployed to Yokosuka, Japan, is on patrol in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of security and stability in the Indo-Asia Pacific.
