PEARL HARBOR (Feb. 18, 2011) - In appreciation of the sacrifices made daily by military members and their families, Paul Brown of Hawaii’s Paul Brown Salons is continuing its Operation Makeover program, which rewards deserving candidates with a complimentary day and evening of beauty, luxury and relaxation. In addition to a personalized hair and body makeover, the program features other benefits from collaborative partners, including dinner for two, a two-night hotel stay in Waikiki and a shopping spree.
“We feel very close to our men and women in the military and are extremely grateful for their service to protect America and the freedoms we all enjoy,” Paul Brown, founder of Paul Brown Salons and the Paul Brown Hawaii line of beauty products, said. “Operation Makeover is just one small way we’re able to say ‘thank you’ to those who serve, including the spouses who hold down the fort during the stressful times of deployment.”
Three Operation Makeover winners — members of the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, National Guard and Navy and their dependents — are selected each month from nominees put forward by service personnel or members of the general public who know them or have worked with them. Recipients receive services at Paul Brown Salons & Spas (Ward Center, Kailua or Waikele), dinner for two from Roy’s Restaurant Waikiki, two-night ocean view accommodations at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, and a personally escorted $250 shopping excursion at Guess.
The Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA) is coordinating all of the arrangements for Operation Makeover, including the selection process. Military leaders, family members, and the public can nominate deserving individuals. Nominations should be based on the knowledge that the proposed recipient has served in a manner or capacity worthy of recognition either as a military person or as a supporter in a military-related role (such as spouses, mothers, fianc, etc.). Particular consideration is given to candidates returning from recent deployments, and their families.
For more information or to nominate a member of the Armed Forces family, call Kehau Bice, ASYMCA project coordinator, at 473-3398 or download the nomination information at www.paulbrownhawaii.com/operation-makeover.asp.
