Steve Koehler, commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet, visited New Zealand and Antarctica, Feb. 10-15, 2026, to strengthen the long-standing partnership between New Zealand and the United States and to visit the Joint Task Force-Support Forces Antarctica (JTF-SFA) service members who work year-round to safeguard national security interests by ensuring the continent remains protected and reserved for peaceful purposes.

Talisman Sabre includes global air power collaboration. “Shared Skies, Shared Strength” demonstrates a unified approach to air dominance by featuring the Royal Canadian Air Force, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Navy, Royal Australian Air Force, U.S. Air Force, Royal Air Force (UK), and the Hawaii Air National Guard. From combat aircraft to transport planes, various nations and U.S. branches worked seamlessly together. More than 40,000 military personnel from 19 nations are participating in Talisman Sabre 2025 across multi-domain operations – sea, land, air, space, and cyber.
