PHILIPPINE SEA (March. 3, 2021) Lt. Cmdr. Gerald Sellars provides instruction to Ens. James Bateman on the bridge of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS John S. McCain (DDG 56) while participating in a group maneuvering exercise with ships assigned to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15 and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) during the annual U.S.-Japan Bilateral Advanced Warfighting Training exercise.
