SAN DIEGO (Oct. 2, 2020) Vice Adm. DeWolfe Miller and his wife, Ellen, go ashore for the final time following his retirement and change of command ceremony aboard the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71). Vice Adm. Kenneth Whitesell assumed command as Commander, Naval Air Forces during the ceremony at Naval Air Station North Island. As the Navy’s ninth “Air Boss”, Whitesell and his staff oversee the man, train and equip mission for Pacific and Atlantic aviation assets to ensure deployable and combat-ready Naval aviation forces.
