160921-N-NB544-506 PHILIPPINE SEA (Sept. 21, 2016) Amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) (left), amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20) (bottom), amphibious dock landing ship USS Germantown (LSD 42) (top) and the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Curtis Wilbur (DDG 54) steam in formation during Valiant Shield 2016 (VS16). VS16 is a biennial, U.S.-only, field training exercise (FTX) with a focus on integration of joint training among U.S. forces.
