191223-N-SF508-0304 JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM (Dec. 23, 2019) Chief Gunner's Mate Benjamin Moore, assigned to the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Wayne E. Meyer (DDG 108), meets his newborn son for the first time upon returning to Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam following a scheduled deployment. Wayne E. Meyer deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operation and conducted an assortment of operations, including several freedom of navigation operations as part of Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy's largest forward-deployed DESRON and the U.S. 7th Fleet's principal surface force.
