220526-N-YQ181-2046 PHILIPPINE SEA (May 26, 2022) A Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) SH-60K Sea Hawk helicopter attached to the JMSDF destroyer JS Teruzuki (DDG 116) departs from the flight deck of U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). The U.S. Navy and JMSDF have worked together as maritime partners for more than 60 years supporting the U.S.-Japan alliance. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the United States, and supports alliances, partnerships and collective maritime interests in the Indo-Pacific region.
