March Air Reserve Base, Calif. - Navy Reserve officers and enlisted integrate with Air Force officers during a combined Navy Drill weekend of U.S. 3rd and 7th Fleet Naval and Amphibious Liaison Element (NALE) members with the 701st Combat Operations Squadron at March Air Reserve Base in California, November 4, 2022. While there they conducted NALE familiarization on Master Air Attack Planning (MAAP) and Combat Ops training on replanning Navy missions on the Air Tasking Order (ATO). NALE is primarily a function of the Navy Reserve, with Reserve personnel filling roughly 98 percent of NALE billets, given the operational tempo of this unique work.
