231008-N-OE145-1145 AT SEA (Oct. 8, 2023) A member of Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF), observes flight operations from vultures row aboard the U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), during a tri-lateral summit, Oct. 8. The embarkation included a tour of Ronald Reagan and facilitated talks between flag officers representing U.S., JMSDF, and Republic of Korea Navy (ROK-N) forces. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the United States, and supports alliances, partnerships and collective maritime interests in the Indo-Pacific region.
