USS Spruance conducts vertical replenishment with USS Abraham Lincoln

240817-N-WV584-1291 INDIAN OCEAN (Aug. 17, 2024) Senior Chief Boatswain’s Mate Roderick Lee, from Los Angeles, stands by as an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 14, drops off pallets of supplies on the flight deck of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Spruance (DDG 111) during a vertical replenishment with the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72). Spruance, assigned to the Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group, is underway conducting routine operations in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations. U.S. 7th Fleet is the U.S. Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
