TIMOR SEA (Sept. 24, 2024) – Sailors assigned to the U.S. Navy Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Dewey (DDG 105) wave from the ship’s bridgewing to the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Murasame-class destroyer JS Ariake (DD 109) while conducting operations in the Timor Sea, Sept. 24, 2024. Dewey is forward-deployed and assigned to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s largest DESRON and the U.S. 7th Fleet’s principal surface force.
