USS Ralph Johnson Conducts Vertical Replenishment

241030-N-NF288-213 PHILIPPINE SEA (Oct. 30, 2024) An MH-60R Sea Hawk from the Warlords of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 51 conducts a vertical replenishment (VERTREP) on the foc’sle of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Ralph Johnson (DDG 114) in the Philippine Sea, Oct. 30. VERTREPs are typically conducted on the flight deck, with the foc’sle being a secondary option for equipment transport, medical evacuations or missions that can’t utilize the flight deck. Ralph Johnson is forward deployed and assigned to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s largest DESRON and the U.S. 7th fleet’s principal surface force.
