31st MEU Marines Conduct VBSS Training

250210-N-TW227-1331 PHILIPPINE SEA (Feb. 10, 2025) Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) prepare to board a CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter from the 31st MEU Air Combat Element (ACE) on the flight deck of the USS John L. Canley (ESB 6), during a visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) drill in the Philippine Sea, Feb. 10. The USS John L. Canley (ESB 6) along with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is underway conducting routine operations in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations. U.S. 7th Fleet is the U.S. Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
