USS John Finn conducts small arms gun shoot in South China Sea

SOUTH CHINA SEA (Aug. 13, 2025) - Gunner’s Mate Seaman Zachary Jacobs, from Sanford, North Carolina, shoots an M18 pistol at a target during a small arms gun shoot on the flight deck aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS John Finn (DDG 113) in the South China Sea, Aug. 13. The John Finn is forward deployed and assigned to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s largest DESRON and the U.S. 7th Fleet’s principal surface force.
