YOKOSUKA, Japan (Nov. 13, 2025) — Adm. Steve Koehler, commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet, awards Vice Adm. Fred Kacher, Commander, U.S. 7th Fleet, the Distinguished Service Medal during the U.S. 7th Fleet Change of Command ceremony on board Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Nov. 13. Vice Adm. Patrick Hannifin assumed command as the 55th commander of U.S. 7th Fleet. U.S. 7th Fleet is the U.S. Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
