George Washington Carrier Strike Group participates in joint live-fire exercise with Republic of Korea

George Washington Carrier Strike Group sails alongside Republic of Korea Navy ships Sejong the Great-class destroyer ROKS Seoae Ryu Seong Ryong (DDG 993), Sejong the Great-class destroyer ROKS Yulgok Yi I (DDG 992), Chungmugong Yi Sun-class destroyer ROKS Wang Geon (DDH 978), Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Milius (DDG 69), and Chungmugong Yi Sun-class destroyer ROKS Gang Gam Chan (DDH 979) during a joint live-fire exercise at sea as part of Carrier Strike Group Exercise (CSGEX) 2025, Nov. 11, 2025. CSGEX is a bilateral exercise that strengthens naval interoperability, enhances the U.S. and Republic of Korea alliance, and demonstrates joint commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific. George Washington is the U.S. Navy’s premier forward-deployed aircraft carrier, a long-standing symbol of the United States’ commitment to maintaining a free and open Indo-Pacific region, while operating alongside allies and partners across the U.S. Navy’s largest numbered fleet.
