USS Portland conducts replenishment-at-sea with USNS Cesar Chavez in South China Sea

U.S. Sailors and Marines assigned to San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Portland (LPD 27), handle line during a replenishment-at-sea with Lewis and Clark-class dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS Cesar Chavez (T-AKE 14), May 26, 2026. Portland, part of the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group, is underway with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations. U.S. 7th Fleet, the Navy's largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, routinely interacts and operates with allies and partners to preserve a free and open Indo-Pacific.
