PMRF, DLNR partnership awarded $4.73mil to support Kaua`i watershed protection and strengthen readiness

PACIFIC MISSILE RANGE FACILITY, Kaua`i, Hawaii (August 25, 2026) — The U.S. Navy’s Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) has secured $4,730,382 in Fiscal Year 2026 funding through the Department of Defense's Readiness and Environmental Protection Integration (REPI) Program to expand ecosystem restoration, wildfire resilience, and watershed protection efforts that support military readiness and benefit surrounding West Kaua`i landscapes. The funding is provided through a cooperative agreement between Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Pacific (NAVFAC Pacific) and the Hawaiʻi Department of Land and Natural Resources’ (DLNR), Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW).
