150106-N-WY954-279 ARABIAN SEA (Jan. 6, 2015) The amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) and the amphibious dock landing ship USS Comstock (LSD 45) transit the Arabian Sea during an underway replenishment. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group and the embarked 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (11th MEU) are deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
