U.S. 7th Fleet’s Task Force (CTF) 75 and Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), embarked aboard the U.S. Navy-contracted diving support vessel (DSCV) Picasso, successfully retrieved the F-35C Lightning II aircraft that crashed during routine flight operations earlier this year in the South China Sea, March 2. CTF 75 and the NAVSEA’s Supervisor of Salvage and Diving embarked Picasso to oversee the safe recovery of the aircraft and delivery to a nearby naval base for continued investigation.
