HAKODATE, Japan (Oct. 7, 2022) Cmdr. Marcus Seeger, commanding officer of Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Benfold (DDG 65), meets with Japan Coast Guard Branch Chief Ikegami Katsuhiro and other members of the Japan Coast Guard during a scheduled port visit, Oct. 7. U.S. Consulate General Sapporo Principal Officer Mark Wuebbels joined the meetings. Benfold is assigned to Commander, Task Force 71/Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s largest forward-deployed DESRON and the U.S. 7th Fleet’s principal surface force.
