U.S. 7TH FLEET (April 11, 2024) The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Russell (DDG 59) sails in formation with the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group, the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Murasame-class destroyer JS Ariake (DD 109), right, and the Republic of Korea Navy Sejong the Great-class guided-missile destroyer ROKS Seoae Ryu Sung-ryong (DDG 993) during a trilateral exercise, April 11, 2024. This trilateral exercise allowed maritime forces from Japan, the Republic of Korea, and U.S. to train together to enhance coordination on maritime domain awareness and other shared security interests. Russell is part of the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific.
